We had a great time learning how Peruvians make wine in this area and understanding the culture of why Latin Americans usually prefer sweet wines to dry ones. The wine was great but it did seem pricey for Peru. Even the Peruvians I was with paid the "gringo tax". With recent mudslides the road to the bodegas is quite rough... More

The tour is brief and doesn't include much. Just shows the distillery and where they crush the grapes (old fashioned methods). The guide was very friendly and nice but it was just a little boring. The tasting was good as the wines were nice but it felt very rushed. I didn't feel any pressure to buy which is good as... More

This vineyard produces both wine and pisco. When you first get there the jump straight into the process and withing 10minutes its done (which i was greatful for). After, you sit down and have a tasting session of different pisco combos and Peruvian wines. Peruvian wines have nothing on Chilean, as its sweet almost to the point of bitter. The... More

This winery is simple and the production is handmade, the most interesting part of the visit is the explanation of their step by step, but it's far from being charming as Tacama. However, the "crema de pisco" is excellent and I bought lots of it, which made the visit worth.

Fun and interesting tour given by a great staff! The tour is short, we were here during the off season for grapes. November-December is probably the best for seeing the vines at their peak. We were told the harvest season in January through early March. I was not a Pisco fan until I had Tony Labis Acholado! We didn't eat... More

the tour is short but very entertaining, the way they presented the process of making piscos and its history.. and the most exciting is you get to taste all of them for free!!! so prepare your tastebuds and enjoy choosing your type of pisco to take home with you.

The tour guide explained the process for making pisco in about 5 minutes and then we tried a variety of piscos. Everything felt rushed, but considering it was free, it's hard to complain. The place itself is beautiful and it was a shame not to learn more about the history of the place and the wine and pisco-making process.

Our guide took us here as part of a tour we had set up. We ordered our food and then went to an area behind the restaurant to learn about the making of pisco. The person who led us through the process was great. She was friendly and knowledgeable. When we returned to the restaurant, we had a tasting of... More

El Catador offers an interesting pisco tasting that could be described as more “traditional” than pisco offerings than at larger distilleries like Tacama. It’s not particularly fancy, and the level of information you receive depends on your guide. It’s a nice quick stop, although not particularly noteworthy – it’s not worth going out of your way to try the pisco... More
