My husband and I booked directly through Crystals Quest in their Sandakan office which was easy to do. They are difficult to contact by phone or email but face to face was fine. The accommodation is basic but fine and the food is if good...More

From start to finninsh everything is fixed and works like a clock. The staff is so friendly. The personal guide who follows you from the door on your acomodation throughout the whole stay till you are back home feels realy serious. It is truly a...More

I booked directly through Crystal Quest online. Took a while but worth the savings. There were 3 of us, myself, my girl friend and her 7 year old daughter. The turtle part of the trip is at night. You arrive at the island about 10:30...More

This was an unforgettable event, very interesting and informative. You can book it directly in the Crystal Quest office to get the best price. It is no more than 15 mins walk from town and you can hike a bus for 1RM on the way...More

The water here is stunning and you will want to dive right in. There is some stunning coral for snorkelling but not a whole lot but still worth a look. The Green turtles were too late for us on the night but watching the babies...More

We had a lovely evening in a beautiful island. The only draw back is the one hour boat ride but worth it. Daw a nesting mother, the egg collection process and the hatchlings heading for the water. They are doing their bit for conservation -...More

We stayed the night on the island so that we could witness turtles coming ashore to lay eggs and young hatchlings heading back into the water. The process is carefully controlled to minimise distress to the mothers but it is possible to take good photographs...More

Having spent the day sunbathing and snorkelling (though probably wouldn't rate the snorkelling as anything special) the evening was the real highlight. After learning a bit about the turtles we were able to watch one laying her eggs then watch the rangers transfering these same...More

I went to Libaran Island which is in turtle island NP but not 'The' turtle island. It is a lot less crowded - only 16 people can go at once - but the chance of seeing turtles is lower. Its still a conservation area and...More

Of all the things we did in Malaysia, this was the highlight. An unforgettable experience that we really enjoyed. The reviews on here cover it very well in detail. As mentioned by many people, the accommodation is pretty basic, but for one night it is...More

We were there in October 2017 and did not see any signs of trouble. We took the boat from Sandakan and stayed the night. No sign of police or military on the Island, but we (family of 4) never felt the least threatened... More
