We stayed the night on the island so that we could witness turtles coming ashore to lay eggs and young hatchlings heading back into the water. The process is carefully controlled to minimise distress to the mothers but it is possible to take good photographs...More

Having spent the day sunbathing and snorkelling (though probably wouldn't rate the snorkelling as anything special) the evening was the real highlight. After learning a bit about the turtles we were able to watch one laying her eggs then watch the rangers transfering these same...More

I went to Libaran Island which is in turtle island NP but not 'The' turtle island. It is a lot less crowded - only 16 people can go at once - but the chance of seeing turtles is lower. Its still a conservation area and...More

Of all the things we did in Malaysia, this was the highlight. An unforgettable experience that we really enjoyed. The reviews on here cover it very well in detail. As mentioned by many people, the accommodation is pretty basic, but for one night it is...More

We had the pleasure of taking a trip to experience the island and it's wildlife recently. Rooms are basic enough but then again we were on a small island to see turtles. Lots of monitor lizards running around and the conservation video and information was...More

The place is really nice great beach and you can snorkle. We did this with crystal quest and had a great service. Seing the turtles was impressive but we were unconfortable with people being to close to the turtle taking selfies not respecting rules....and the...More

I can’t decide what I make of this trip. There is genuine scientific conservation work going on here, but the tourism component wasn’t the respectful observation of turtles I was necessarily expecting. I booked direct with crystal quest, and I would advise doing only this....More

The main attraction was seeing turtle laying eggs and learn about turtle conservatory, but the island offer plenty of other things. The beach was so beautiful with white sands, and the water was very crystal clear and rich with marine lives. I enjoyed swimming and...More

I was initially wary when my wife suggested we spend the night at Turtle Island. I thought it was expensive but agreed and am so glad I did. Snorkelling during the day on a pretty good reef, although when the tide went out it was...More

I think Turttle Island is still ok to visit despite the negative advice. Its maybe safer than London, Paris, Brussels..... At least there are no incidents the past years in this specific region.
