We were in the right place at the right time to see an abundance of wildlife. Flamingos were at a long distance away which was a shame but still managed to get some photos from a distance. We spotted a lion, plenty of zebras, monkeys,...More

Whilst visiting Lake Nakuru on Safari we saw black / white rhinos, cape buffalo, giraffes, lions and many more. The flamingo population is dwindling but there is still so much to see.

You are guaranteed to see rhinos in this park as it is Kenya's first and largest rhino sanctuary. The flamingoes population is dropping with the water levels of the lake rising and the alkaline levels changing. But you get an interesting shoreline with the dead...More

While the lake's water level has risen in recent years, the flamingos do still come through. The park has a number of rhinos and they take their protection very seriously. We also saw lions, Rothchild's giraffe (more than 15 in one area!), eagles, waterfalls, spoonbills,...More

We stopped at Lake Nakuru as part of our 5-day safari in southwestern Kenya. While we did see flamingos, we didn't see the huge flocks which were reported in the past. Our guide said that the water level is rising which is making it more...More

We travelled 4 hours from Nairobi to visit the park and it was worth it! We saw all the usual suspects, lion, rhino, giraffe, baboons, impala, buffalo, warthogs, flamingo's and had a wonderful lunch at Sopa Lodge. Had a great stay in the park and...More

It was a total disappointment. We did not see any flamingo as depicted. Wouldn’t recommend anyone going there just to see the birds, it’s a waste of time and money, Apparently the flooding has caused a natural disaster and the flamingo don’t come there any...More

The lake may be jam-packed with flamingos 10+ years ago, but most of them migrated to Lake Bogoria. When we were there, there were about 30 flamingos at Lake Nakuru only (versus thousands in Lake Bogoria). But in our Kenya trip, this is the only...More

We were limited with time late in the afternoon due to a vehicle problem so did not see the full park. However, the white rhinos were a feature. Clearly this is a highlight as everyone seemed to head to the same place but car numbers...More

If you are looking for Flamingos I suggest you skip Lake Nakuru and instead visit Lake Bogoria. Rothschild Giraffe, Black and White Rhinos, Lions, Leopard and other plains game are easily spotted at Lake Nakuru.

Best place to see lake is from Baboon Cliff viewpoint and clearly signed. No boating though on this lake!
