Unique place to visit. Read a bit about the background before you come as all explanation is only in Farsi. Walk up the tower and try to imagine how the burial ceremony must have been like in those days. A must do when in Yazd.

Find out sunset timings from the internet/accom/guide. Allocate yourself about 30 mins to climb up one 'Tower'. There are two, and if you have time to climb only one then I would highly recommend climbing the higher one which is on the left. Tougher, but...More

When you reach there, you cannot see anything special, at first. But as you move around and if you listen to the explanation of the guide, you feel yourself in a safe but disquietude environment.

This place is an essential part of Zoroastrian religion, where the followers lay their dead loved ones' bodies at the top of the tower for the scavenging birds and weather to 'disintegrate' the bodies. The ascent to the top requires a basic level of fitness...More

Read about the history before going to this place, so you understand what you are seeing, otherwise you climb up all the steps "just to see a hole", like my daughter said. Fascinating scenery with mud and bricks houses to explore. Great for kids, who...More

I went there with a guide recommend by our hostel since the towers are not really in walking distance from the city center. It was a nice hike to the top and feeling the ancient history around this place was amazing. It's a bit surreal...More

A view into earlier civilisation and customs not to be missed. Make sure you have a guide or read up about it before you visit.

An informative guide helps you alot to understand about the towers of silence and the Zoroastrianism. Before the sunset is the best time to visit there or if you don't have enough time 8 a.m. Is good to avoid the heat and the sun.
