We were told that if a Muslim cannot afford to visit Mecca itself, then they can come to this place seven times, and it would be the same as going to Mecca once. Sounds like an ancient marketing campaign to get more tourists to Bhukara.

A pleasant walk through this sacred site. Many of the buildings are modern. Not as photogenic as other attractions of Bukhara

Despite the somewhat rigid orientation of the Nakshband Tariqa, this is a very lively pilgrimage site offering a vivid experience' apart from its stunning beauty

The Naqshbandi necropilis is a complex of several mausoleums and madrasahs wich were built for honoring one of the most renowned Sufi philosophers of Central Asia. The mausoleum is highly recommended for travelers staying in Bukhara for more than 2 days.

The entire complex is very clean and so large that it doesn't feel as if there are many people visiting. The locals feed the ducks, others pray in front of the memorial. Absorb the atmosphere, enjoy people watching and reflect on one's life!

One of other 6 mausoleums of Saints which has to be visited in Buhara. Prayers are heard and you feel the presence of something strong.

This is a mosque, a Sufi hostel, a holy spring, a Zoroastrian shrine, all wrapped into one. This is a must, especially to soak in the beauty of the intricately adored ceiling of the terrace here.

A taxi ride out of town, but well worth the trip. There is some beautiful tile work and wood carving, and it preserves a spiritual feel
