Only marginally further afield than the Wat Mahathat, Wat CHang Lom is worth the detour to get there. The elephants have been well preserved and the Wat is still largely in tact. It is easy to sit back and imagine this place centuries ago.

Wat Chang Lom is just behind the Legendha Resort Hotel I stayed at last week. The temple is small but the chedi with the 20-something elephants a very nice place to visit.

My fiancee and I enjoyed visiting this small temple ruins. It was adjacent to our hotel, Legendha. The ruins, were the easiest to navigate, minimum steps, etc.

An impressive chedi, surrounded by elephants, which appear to carrying it on their backs. However, either the elements, or the weight of their workload, has had a detrimental effect on some of the elephants. It is however still an impressive site to visit.
