Very beautiful. Great snorkeling sites around the beach. Maya bay is very beautiful. We highly recommend taking a longboat at sunset. Plankton sightseeing tours should be taken at moonless nights.

OK, you just have to be smart about travelling to touristy places. Ko Phi Phi gets a bad rep because people say it's too crowded - I dislike crowded places, but I had a great experience, which I owe to my personal tour. If you...More

We visited Phi Phi island as part of a day tour. It wasn't too crowded in low season which was great. The beach is beautiful, but quite rocky, so not too good for kids. The view however makes it a worthwhile trip.

we arrived when there were plenty of tourists - so was not the same impression as expected.. no free space to take a picture at Maya Bay. Overcrowded lagoon as well.

No paradise. So disappointed with our experience. Not at all as I had imagined. The number of speedboats allowed to stop here at one time is ridiculous. Not a decent photo could be taken. The high number of tourists was uncomfortable. The trek to the...More

the beach is undeniably picturesque. but tourism killed the paradise. i cant take pictures without wormingers at the background. it was horrific to see all the boats covering the shore. i will never go back there anymore.

Nice cove just on the other side of Maya Bay. Lots of boat traffic, unfortunately. Lots of trash. We picked up a trash bagful within 5 minutes. There ought to be a campaign for each boat to return with a trash bag full.

We've almost all seen the famous Leo Di Caprio movie the beach from 2000. At this time, Thailand was this country far far away. South of Thailand really has a lot of magnificiant beaches, in the Krabi area as well as in the Gulf of...More

Its a beautiful beach, one of the most serene I have been. Its quieter with crystal clear blue waters, small fishes swimming near the shore. Awesome!

Hi Everyone, We are going to Thailand for our honeymoon in November. We are staying on Karon for 5 nights and then Phi Phi for 3 nights. Looking for comments and thoughts on this plan - less or more nights on either one and recommendations on what to do. Thanks so much

Hi Robin. We are going in a couple weeks. People keep posting about hiring a private longboat tour of Phi Phi Le. How do you go about doing this? Do you just ask when you arrive at Phi Phi Don? I know there are tour 'companies' but not sure if this is the same thing as you did. thanks for any info! Cheryl

If you are in Phuket town go to Pacific Inn hotel and ask them to arrange tour for you. They have several different tours - from very cheap one to about 2500 BHT. No reason to pay more than 1500 for a tour.
