This former gate is the main entrance to the inner grounds of the Royal Summer Palace that is located in Bang Pa-In, 60 km north of Bangkok. The attractive white building, surrounded by semi-circular arches overlooking the ornamental lake, is connected to the neoclassical style Warophat Phiman residence hall which features a formal throne room & state dining room that's... This building was originally a gate, separating the part of the Palace reserved for the King and his extensive family from his courtiers and other hangers on. Sadly, it's role now is to act as a shop where one can buy ice creams. How are the mighty fallen in status!

Very nice building that was the main entrance to the inner palace. Definitely worth a look while touring the complex.

We took the tour ostensibly to see the ruins of the temples but this was an extra stop and it was certainly worth it!! The royal history told to us by our guide was invaluable for a thorough understanding of what we were seeing. Our guide was through Amazing Asian Tours

Looks like an old Carriage building for the main residence next to a covered walkway to the European style main residence. There is now a small museum on some of the food consumed by the Royals, some typical utensils and some typical clothing. There were also some tasty snacks to buy and sample, Khanom Bueang (crispy crepes). The snacks are... More

Since my last visit in 2014 they have removed the lovely old horse-drawn carriages from this building. Now it's become a souvenir and food shop.

As part of Bang Pa-In experience is this well kept gate to the residential side of this Summer Palace. The grounds are well kept and children enjoyed seeing different animal-styled plants.

This structure is just a part of the whole Banh Pa-in experience and I don't think it warrants a separate listing. If you go to the palace grounds you will definitely not miss it!

As other reviewers have stated, this building is just one of many that make up the Bang Pa-in Palace and doesn't warrant a separate listing as you come to see them all, not just one. I saw this on a tour to Ayathaya from Bangkok. The grounds are well cared for with a array of different types of buildings, some... More

The Devaraj-Kunlai Gate is the principal entrance to the Inner Palace (the residential portion) of the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace. The gate is nice enough, but nobody would just go see the gate, it's in the middle of the Summer Palace, and there are many beautiful structures within the palace to see, so doesn't really need to be its own...
