We drove 1.5 hours, one way, from Munnar and took the 2 hours track. We saw some small birds and a lot of animals poo but not a single live animal. The route was boring and we could make it easily in one hour. The guide spoke very basic English. It cost quite a lot and its a waste of... More

chinnar wildlife sanctuary is a good place to visit if you are in munnar. this is aftwer marayoor and the road through forest offers great views and i was fortunate to see couple of wild elephants on the way.there are place to view the forest.i enjoyed the drive.

This is a great place to visit. and spend sometime here. This time when we visited here, this sanctuary was closed. This will remain close till 1st April So please don't waste time to explore this

preferably go and stay there. homestays available. details on the net. elephants , deer , boar, monkeys can be sighted with ease. the malabar squirrel will be seen if you are lucky. and to spot a leopard or tiger..... you got to be lucky and blessed !!

We trekked chinnar today. We reached the kerala check post where the trekking office is located. A quick form was filled and we were all set to go after paying 225 per head that includes a guided trek to the watch tower followed by trek through the forest. We left at 10 and were back by 12:30.
