It is a few min drive from the Munnar city. There are two shows (5-6 : Kathakali show, 6-7: Kalaripattu show). Both these shows are fully booked almost all days. Hence it is advisable to buy the tickets around 3 or 4 pm so that we get a good view of the shows. They also explain the basics of Kathakali... More

Kalaripayattu - 6-7pm daily only one show. Fantastic experience for family as well as young kids. Totally engrossing show. Post show experience and photography opportunity is great. Kathakali - 5-6pm daily one show. The costumes are great. Show was really boring and loud. Could not understand storyline at all. Kids and elders equally bored waiting for show to end. Photo... A must visit while in Munnar! Very well organised and systematic. Opt for seats closer to the performance arena..

This is the best place in munnar to experience Kathakali dance and Kalaripathyu form. Specially the sword fighting and fire act in kalaripathyu is mind blowing. The performer in kathakali will tell you about various expressions they used in the dance form.

We were in a group of 10 who had booked the tickets to watch the performance. The have two performances daily. The first show at 5,00pm is the "Kathakali" which is a Classical Dance Drama. This is followed by the "Kalarippayattu" which is a Traditional Martial Arts Display which starts at 6.00pm. The entrance fees are INR200 for each performance.... More

Experienced these performances - Kathakalli and Kalariyapattu Martial arts. Martial arts show is a must see. Brave acts of the performers will amaze you. I reckon this type of art needs to be promoted more so that they can be well recognized for all their hard work. :)

I was not sure about this place but it was so great and a highlight for my trip. The dance performance was amazing and my kids enjoyed a lot. Go early if you need a good front seat row else 200 rs ticket is fine.

I visited this place during my Munnar visit and enjoyed the Kathakali dance show from 5 to 6 PM. If you are interested about dance then this is a must visit place. This one hour show is really mind blowing. They presented a part from Mahabharata with Bhim, Droupadi and Krishna. Really enjoyable.

I highly recommend the kathakalli and kalariyapattu performance by Punarjani. A team of extremely talented and focussed artists who give you just more than your money's worth of entertainment. The kathakalli performance will amuse and interest you and the kalariyapattu act will leave you in awe and in high spirits! Their performance was good enough for me to write a... More

We experienced this traditional Kathakali dancedrama during our visit at Munnar in October 2016. It's a really a show with full of grace and mind-blowing performance by the three Kathakali artists with live music performed by few musicians. They also entertain audience taking some people on the stage. After the performance, visitors can get a chance to get their photographs... More
