The Basilica is a World heritage site. With all the plasters removed, it has the old pristine charm.

Of the few churches left in Goa, this is the “must see.” The stonework is noteworthy as is the Jesuit history. The key feature is the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier.

We are lucky enough to see the Old Basilica Church at Goa. A nice architectural view. St Fransis is laying here in peace. It get closed by 5 pm so visit before the time.

You might get occasional rain. Best time in Goa is in December.

Hi, there's no entrance charge for the church but mind the dress code - no shorts and sleeveless clothes for the guys or girls. The main Feast happens on 3 Dec every year with a 10 novena preceding it but nothing I'm aware... More
