Our class came here for two weeks and had lots of great lectures and dives. We focused on fish, coral, macro algae, sponges, coral restoration, and lots more. The building has a dry lab as well as a wet lab and the marine biologist has extensive knowledge and has done lots of research with the reef on Roatán. If you are co side ring coming, you will not regret this experience.

This excursion was the highlight of our cruise, as a family we had been looking forward to this most of all and it did not dissapoint! Transportation was prompt, clean, and convenient. We were dropped off to a great gift shop- but not to worry, plenty of time for that when we are done. A short boat ride to the key and we are there, the dolphins were swimming around us and receiving plenty of loving attention. Facilities were great, lockers for security, large changing rooms, and clean restrooms. After a brief introduction and gear sizing we were off to the water- and the dolphins! The staff is patient with guests, and could not be more accomodating. We had a 5 year old with us and he was able to ride on our backs for dolphin tows, they even offered for us to go it alone after he had his turn. this is a very controlled and safe environment, we were completely comfortable the whole time. The photographer is great, helping to position you and moving to get the best shots, our photos were awesome. We can't overstate how great of a place this is, we did the in water swim, it was a small group (8) so very personal. When done, you can shower and change, then back across to the gift shop. Prices are reasonable adn fair with lots of choices. The photos are a must, the price is REALLY reasonable when you consider what others charge, or even the cost of photos on the cruise. We have our photos posted all over the house and still enjoy looking at them. When all done, we got a ride back to the ship in time for some lunch and fun before getting back on board.

What a wonderful experience being up close and personal with the dolphins. Great open ocean pens allow the dolphins to come and go as they want. Great island area for snorkeling as well!

If you’ve ever wanted to swim with dolphins and we’re concerned about the ethics of penning up such beautiful creatures this is the place for you. The dolphins here are kept in a secluded cove, not a tank, they are happy, healthy, and thriving — they’re producing lots of baby dolphins. And it is one of the few places where scientists can study the interactive behavior of dolphin pods. The program is well organized, the guides are well informed, and the dolphins are playful. I signed up for the snorkel ‘adventure’ and after the introduction (when they tell you about the dolphins and you get photos taken) I snorkeled for about a half an hour in the dolphin cove. The baby dolphin was very curious and swam up to me about four times (closely accompanied by two other dolphins.) Another pair of dolphins also swam with me, one on each side, a couple of times. And a particularly mischievous dolphin kept nipping my fins. It sounds scary but it wasn’t. They were very gentle with us humans thrashing around in their space.
