I spent an enjoyable three hours walking the intricate network of trails in this superb patch of lowland tropical forest. My purpose was bird watching and also reacquainting myself with tropical forest vegetation I had not seen in several years. I made sure that I followed the trail to the top of Carambola Mountain that afforded me excellent views of... More

Carambola Gardens did not disappoint! Going there was part of a day long tour I booked while staying in Roatan. I was very fortunate to have the owner; Bill Brady, as my tour guide. Bill has created a true mini complete eco system here. It is very well maintained and beautiful. I highly recommend visiting while in Roatan!

Carambola gardens were beautiful! The hike to the top view is worth it and not very difficult at all. Get a guided tour apparently you learn way more and the guides point out some wonderful foliage that you may miss on your own.

A great way to spend the afternoon. Foliage is healthy. We climbed the 2 miles mountain trail and had a wonderful view at the top. We sat on the benches and enjoyed the afternoon. Bring snacks and water!!! Enjoy and relax!!!

Very nice way to spend a couple of hours walking in nature and seeing the local plants . Not an easy walk for someone with mobility issues but lovely way to have a break from the shore . Cute little gift shop and snack bar on site too.

This is a shore excursion we did during a Royal Caribbean stop. A nice air conditioned bus with an informative guide and friendly driver picked us up at the port (short walk) and drove us to Carambola. During the drive we were given informative facts about Roatan and Honduras and enjoyed the scenery. Upon arrival at Carambola, we were led... More

This was a Quick Hike (40 min or so) with a great view of Sandy Bay. Not sure it was worth the $10 admission fee.

The gardens were very well kept, properly and informatively marked and equipped with several spots to stop throughout the gardens to relax and absorb the sourounding nature of the jungle. A map was provided when entering the gardens with descriptions of certain pinpoints and extra information was given by the gate keeper on the location of certain tropical plants. The... More
