Small store and workshop, making unusual art

This was a 25 minute visit from a cruise ship shore excursion, and more time wasn't needed unless a person will be purchasing a lot. I had expected to see delicate carvings of... read more

Have you ever wondered how they do that? Well, enter Stone Castle Cameo Factory and be amazed and have those questions answered. Artisans sums it. I have always been fascinated with cameos. The skill required to make scene or face come to life as realistic as any canvas only in 3D on a delicate material. Yes not only do you... More

We specifically went out of our way to visit the artist. They are usually only open on cruise days, so make sure they're open. It wasn't but we managed to get the artist to open up shop. Took a very, very long time.... But, he took us into his private studio (not the main shop where he trains others) to... More

spent about 15 - 20 minutes there with my wife during an island tour. The artwork was very nice. I believe some of the pieces to be slightly overpriced and after close examination i do not believe that the settings that they claim are sterling silver and pewter are nothing more than plastic. My recommendation is do not settle for... More

Across the street from this small 30min stop on our tour, sits this MOST amazing store: the cameo carvers can be seen at work while jewellery to lamps ranging from $10 (USD) all the way to the thousands can be seen or purchased and shipped. While there I found a carved set of swan earrings for my sister from Boston.... More

This was a 25 minute visit from a cruise ship shore excursion, and more time wasn't needed unless a person will be purchasing a lot. I had expected to see delicate carvings of small traditional cameos, but instead found it to be carving in shells to make unique art. Several workers were grinding on shells while we were there, but... More

We went during a Carnival excursion called "Top 10 Best of Roatan." This was a neat place, and the carved, shell jewelry was beautiful. You can even watch an artist work. There's not an option below for family (all adults).

A must stop on way to the beach. If we hadn't had a great taxi driver who knew it was there, we would have never known it was there. The pieces are beautiful and a small piece about $20 but worth it for the work that's put into it. I'm not sure the needed a headset speaker to tell us... More

Our experience with the Cameo Factory was incredible! We went via a shore excursions tour from our cruise on Dec. 16th, 2016. My wife and I appreciate FINE works of art, and the creations of 4th generation master carver Franco Tammaro are breathtaking. His skills are unbelievable. We were fortunate enough to get a chance to meet the master and... More

I love cameo anyway so was excited to visit. This is a very interesting place. You can see cameos being made. I bought earrings and am proud to show them off. The quality is first rate.

We have been to the Stone Castle Cameo Factory several times. We always like to stop in and see what new cameo designs they have. We absolutely love this place. Don't miss an opportunity to see these "one-of-a-kind" Italian carved cameos. They are carved from conk shells and they are absolutely beautiful. We always make a point to stop here... More
