Magnificent place, crystal clear waters hopping from pool to pool and even with a bit of a body manicure from the little fish that eat the dead skin (they don't hurt at all).

Loved the place; the pools are amazing with colorful ecosphere. Also the surroundings (viewpoint, cave and river) are top! Definitely worth the effort to get there.

The last part of the trip to Semuc Champey is on trucks on a dirt bumpy road, so you feel you are at the "end of the world". The view from the Mirador is fantastic. The pools are a great place to swim. A few...More

Semuc is basically a series of beautifully clear, azure pools that cascade across the top of a limestone shelf under which the river has carved its way. So, an interesting bit of geology. And swimming there was beautiful. But it does take a big investment...More

As most of the travellers would have has experienced, having a guided tour of the attraction might be too much of a dampening experience. The natural volcanic swimming pools hidden amidst, shows of its beauty with the trek up a moderately tough trail up the...More

We stayed at the hostel El Portal, just outside the gate to Semuc Champey. The hostel was OK, but they provided a guide, who did not tell anything about the park, history or useful information. He was more interested in telling everybody he spoke 6...More
