I just wanted to add some recent tips since we climbed last week: - the cabins now have nice, thick mattress pads so you do NOT need a sleeping pad - if you paid for the 'meal plan' option this does not include someone carrying...More

I am looking forward to trekking the Volcanoe again. It was beautiful and breathtaking. The hike is somewhat challenging but still enjoyable. The leaders take frequent breaks. The nature and ecology going up is beautiful including the view. Looking into the volcano is something you...More

I booked the trek directly with the park office. They picked me at the border and helped with the border crossing which went very smooth. They then drove me and other tourists to the base station for the volcano were we met the guides. In...More

The views at the top are incredible- both of the volcano but also the broader landscapes But the hike is very hard. The weather constantly changes - we had periods of hail and intense sun during our hike up. The hike up is a challenge...More

Me and my wife (age 55) are not very sporty, walking dog and golfing are the only exercise we do. We were bit afraid that climbing the volcano will be too difficult for us but we made it and I believe that everybody in reasonable...More

Great hiking, perfect organization, and professional guide/ranger Benoit. No issue with security. Amazing feeling looking into the open heart of the Earth. Be ready for long walking in first phase, and for hiking at the end. Weather allowed us to watch this "performance of hell"...More

300 dollars are a lot. But still incredible worth! I was a bit annoying because we were 12 people. There were two ladies not ready at all for it but instead to make two groups we had to go all together and wait all the...More

Hi Joe I was in Congo in November and we had 4 guards with AK47s with us all the time. Goma is not safe place to walk alone. And l don't think that it's safer now.
