I didn't know what to expect when I arrived, but this was really a surprise. The exhibition of faces and personal belongings of people who were murdered here really causes the activation of one's emotions.... and the bullets incorporated in the floor.... uh....

A sad piece of history is told here.

We visited this site while on a tour. I remember when this happened not so long ago. It was in about 1992. It is a tragic display of the horrible things that people do in war. These mostly young men were gathered up and tortured before being executed. Their pictures are in the memorial along with some of their possessions. Most people in the memorial will be teary at the story and sites. It is worth the trip out to the farm to see it. It does a nice job of paying respect to those who died here.

Trying to understand
Aug 2019
I visited the Memorial Center and the nearby mass graves. It was a truly horrific shocking action (ethnic cleansing) by the Serb forces in the war but I feel there should be more done concerning reconciliation between the two groups (Serbs and Croats) who are living together in Vukovar. I heard some tour guides saying how children are still being taught to hate the 'other side'. Don't get me wrong, the Sertb actions were 200% wrong and perhaps some people can never forget. However, Croat actions during World War II were arguably as bad. Go see for yourself - Vukovar is worth the detour.

Such a sad place
Apr 2019 • Friends
The monument was made for about 255 - 260 innocent civilians and defenders of Vukovar that were killed by Serbian military units.
There were not only Croats killed, but also the Serbs who were defending the city, Bosnians, Hungarians. Among the victims are French volunteer Jean-Michel Nicolier and journalist Siniša Glavašević.
Do visit if you are in Vukovar. If you can't find the way just ask some locals.

A monument dedicated to the victims of Ovčara massacre where Serbian army slaughtered 260 innocent civilians and defenders of Vukovar. The architect who designed this monument did a very respectful job and it looks stunning.

A perfect memorial to visit with a war veteran to learn and understand what they experienced in 1991. A sad place worth to visit to learn about the Balkan wars. Tears will fall on your face

Sad reminder with photos of the people killed in the museum. Reminder of what war can do. Thus worth preserving for future generations
