Lake Gradina

The lake is named after a building (Croatian gradina) or monastery which had once been situated on the peak between Kozjak lake and this one.

Every lake on the Upper Lakes has its own exquisite beauty, and is worth exploring. The water in this lake, as in the others, is crystal clear. Being one of the larger upper lakes, it was pleasant to sit on one of the benches on its shores for a break and just take in the fresh air and beautiful scenery.

Close to entrance 2 and in the upper lakes area, this lake is easy to get to. The formations in this lake are particularly nice.

There are a lot of beautiful lakes really near to each other. This is one of the bigger ones with beautiful cascades on its side.

This is just one of many beautiful lakes in the park. This is not as busy as the lower lakes, so it's a good spot to go and take pictures.

This is just a smal lake in Plitvice Lakes National Park and you will experience the wonder of the whole park while getting to this lake. Make it a full day trip into the park and the walking is easy.

I couldn't believe how beautiful this place was! The pictures don't even do it justice. The water is brilliantly clear and the most vivid blue and green and you can see all the way to the bottom and see all the fishes and trees that have fallen in. The waterfalls are breathtaking. We went in may and the weather was... More

Trees that fall are left. Nothing is allowed to be disturbed. It ia a very big body of water and the tourist path goes right by the side of it.

Unlike most of the other lakes in the national park, Gradinsko lake is only a 5 minute hike away from the far end ferry terminal at Entrance 2. It can be reached by entering the park at Entrance 2 and crossing lake Kozjak along the short side. Make sure to take sun glasses and a hat along when visiting in... More
