Surrounded by a medieval wall...it's best to take the bus UP to it and DOWN from it. The streets are very cobblestoned as well as up and down. I would say they are not suited for someone who has issues walking. Saw several people in...More

Motovun is a beautiful medieval city still intact and in use today. Entrance shows Venician and Roman influences. There is a beautiful view of the countryside from the city. A must visit if you are near the Hills of Istria.

Motovun in Istra is top place to visit. Truffles...green valleys...hilltops...little old streets...authentic restaurants...great views...very old culture...heritage...nice local people...well, all that is sufficient to get you in this beautiful and romantic Motovun. You will not regret.

Do plan to walk around when visiting Motovun. The views over the valley below are spectacular. Plan to eat here too, and spend a relaxing day.

This ancient, walled town is a must if you are traveling through Istria or biking the Parenzana bike trail. It's up a moderately steep I km road from the bike trail with lots of good restos with great views over the valley. Be sure to...More

The city of Motovun is quite small but really interesting. It's perched on a hilltop right in the centre of the Istrian peninsula. The views are spectacular in every direction. Nice little places to shop & have some refreshments too
