I've seen my share of walled cities, but Motyovun certainly stands out. It is well preserved, small and yet impressive. Absolutely worth a visit.

We left our car on the parking and took bus upside. A nice walk in the old city. We tried some truffle tasting. Very pittoresque. A must do on a half day in Istria.

You will love being in a less crowded walled city (especially if you have been in Dubrovnik when a cruise ship or four hit...). Lovely views, uncrowded and simple.

Beautiful views ja pretty houses. Hard climbing up to hill, but children liked it. Little kittens all over the place, which was joyable for kids.

It's been since the mid-80's since been there and noticed a lot of hotels have opened up. But the view looking up at Motovun and 360 views from above make it worthwhile.

The town itself is very nice and has a medieval atmosphere. It is focused a lot on the truffle industry.

The is one of the old mountain villages in Istria. The views from there are beautiful and it is fun to walk around the old streets. Truffles grow nearby so many items on the restaurant menus are made with truffles.

Visited in early July. No crowds. Really beautiful spot. Compact with nice restaurants and galleries. Darijana Mocibobi is an excellent gallery with works by the owners husband and daughter. Recommend.
