Absolutely great!

If you stay in Motovun in October and you are early enough, the sunlight over the fog in the valley gives you an absolutely great experience.

The square at the top of the climb offers some wonderful architectural artifacts, photos and stories.

I was surprised by how beautiful the town was. It has nice energy and lots of good restaurant. I think that September and October are probably the best time for visit, as it is not to hot, colors are vivid and you can it is good time for eating truffles.

Tiny fortified village perched on a hill top can be seen for several miles away. Park outside and walk into narrow streets and crumbling history. Notice how quiet it is when the tourists have all gone.

We got to cycle to the city from the bottom -- about 1600 foot climb over 3 kilometers! Very quaint city that gets a lot slower at night when the tour buses leave. Not a lot to explore as the city is not that large. Very nice views!

We visited here for a few hours. The architecture is beautiful and we were lucky to get good weather. There is a shuttle bus that will take you up to the town from the main carpark at the bottom of the hill.

It's a cute walled town, but there are many of them in Istria. If you don't want to walk up a steep cobblestone street, don't come up to Motovun. Photograph it from afar, but there is nothing here that you won't find elsewhere.

A beautiful walled in medieval city perched on a hilltop. Great views at the top. Parking depends on how busy it is. If it's not too bad, you can drive up the hill and park in designated areas. If it's busy, then the upper parking areas are filled up and there will be a barrier across the road. So you... More

Beautiful views and countryside. Not a lot to do so nice place to relax and walk around the windy streets. Enjoy a drink or some food from the top!

Motovun hilltop town can be reached via car - pay a few kunas for parking or park below and take a shuttle bus up. In late summer there was no problem getting parking nearer the top. This town was lovely. Try to watch the sunset from there, it's really beautiful as the sun sets beyond the lush greenery. I really... More
