The old town looks amazing. The street are paved and narrow. The view from the ancient walls is great.

Motovun is very nice, but they are inventing ways to make a buck. They have actually installed a turnstile to see the view on one side of the city!! Ridiculous!! It's a nice view, but no better than countless others we have seen. Locals in...More

A bit of a hike up the hill- take the shuttle for a few dollars - but the shops are genuine, no Chinese imports here. Try the truffles and hams . Worth the trip

Unfortunately, Motovun shares the same fate with other medieval towns (e.g. in Italy) that they attract more people than they can handle. Motovun, as pretty and interesting it is, reminded me of San Giminiano - in a good way (lots of nice old buildings) and...More

It is like stepping back in time visiting this hilltop town. The views are amazing and the maze-like streets, are great to wander about on a sunny afternoon.

Thank you Anthony Bourdain, thank you. I can't remember exactly when we watched the Croatian Coast episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations series, but the little mountain-top town of Motovun always stayed with us. So when we decided to visit Istria/Northern Croatia last year we...More

Traveled from Rovinj. Roads were challenging, but the town was charming. Particularly enjoyed the views.

Little Motovun was one of our favorite towns we visited in Istria. Very authentic and untouched by time. A definite recommendation however make sure that you can walk uphill comfortably as it is all a climb. I would also recommend visiting off season as I...More

Surrounded by a medieval wall...it's best to take the bus UP to it and DOWN from it. The streets are very cobblestoned as well as up and down. I would say they are not suited for someone who has issues walking. Saw several people in...More
