Korcula is one of the many beautiful Croatian Islands. The main population is located around the old city which is stunning in its beauty. It is a great historical town with many stories many involving Marco Polo who was born there. There are many beautiful places to stay and eat and a good base to do some day trips sailing... More

Our little group of Prinsendam cruisers left trusty tender 6 at the dock and strolled south along the waterfront enjoying the scenery and pestering the people on holiday having their breakfast onboard their boats and yachts. At Trg Pomirenja we took pictures of the soviet monument to workers. South east found us at Saint Justine with a resurrected Christ on... More

Very pretty island, with lovely views. Interesting that in the past it was Venetian and you can see the lion of Venice in various places. Furthermore it also was the birth place of the famous Marco Polo. His house and Museum alas were closed. Very tranquil place unless full of tourists. Go up the church tower for some great views.

This is a small town on an island. Very scenic and historic. Easy and pleasant to wander through the narrow streets and around the edge of the island. Great views and many photo opportunities. This was our second visit and we would not object to a third visit if the opportunity arises. Many of these islands along the Croatian are... More

Our family took a bike and boat tour of islands off the coast of Croatia. We rode from one end of Korcula and completed the ride in Korcula City. On the way was a lovely beach to bathe in. The view coming into the old town from up on the hill was magnificent. Once we arrived and took a tour... More

13e century old city with narrow streets. Only 300 people are still living inside the old walls. Many terraces as well as stone balconies. One of the most beautiful (and peaceful in sept) old city we visited during this 19 days trip. You can spend a full day wandering thru those narrow streets stoping at every boutiques.

We visited Korcula in November and officially the season is over. For us that was a delight as we could wander around and explore and take photos unhindered by others. There wasn't much open but for me that made it so much easier to see the beauty of the old town.

We took a two week tour of Croatia and Slovenia and we spent an afternoon in the Korcula Old City. It is a small city directly on the Adriatic. It is supposedly the birthplace of Marco Polo although there is disagreement about this among historians. However, Marco Polo was captured here and put into prison where a fellow inmate chronicled... We visited Korcula old town whilst on a 2 week silaing charter holiday in Croatia this year. Having already seen the old towns in Split & Dubrovnik we were dubious that the much smaller old town on Korcula island would impress us too much. However, whilst it is indeed much smaller, it is is also much less crowded (at least... More

We visited Korcula on a tour from Dubrovnik and our local guide was very knowledgeable on the history of the city and the different places to have a look at. We were very lucky and the weather was marvelous even late October so The views were stunning and the pictures worth it. Do not miss it if you are visiting... More
