Nice place to hang out in the evening with friends. Shamelessly unauthentic crass “old town” with lots of similar shops.

This town is preserved for the tourist and getting more commercialize . Most of the houses are shops and restaurants are quite commercialise and few people still live here. It is still enjoyable to roam the town to enjoy the old charm

We recently spent a few days based in Lijiang and found it to be well worth a visit. The architecture and beautiful flowers make walking around a visual pleasure. Yes - as others have mentioned- it’s very touristy with lots of shops selling the same...More

This area has an old historic feeling but is a tourist shopping sight. Worth a visit but very touristy.

The back alleys and cobblestone streets of the Old Town are fascinating. We had a local guide, but it would be easy to get lost--not a problem unless you have little time. The lights, people, restaurants, etc., are especially great in the evening.

One of my favorite old towns in the world. So charming and quaint. With no cars allowed either makes it a real joy to walk around especially at night with the nights on. So many restaurants and shops to choose from.

First time been to lijiang, the experience was so-so. While the building still well-maintained and infused with sense of old-time, it was crowded and commercialized.

Lijiang old town is a throw back from the past. Narrow cobbled streets and buildings that are quaint (they look as though they may fall down). On an evening it gets very very busy as it is a hot tourist spot. Lots of shops selling...More

We had an excellent lady Mrs. Li, English speaking from the local Naxi University. She has a driver also. It is not a travel agency. You can find her in the square near the water wheel.

Lijiang is without a doubt one of China's genuine highlights, and I think that it would be a real mistake to miss it out. There are only two or three main throroughfares that are busy, while the rest of the many maze-like... More
