Even if you are not interested in sports this is a must see. The array of various sports is amazing; from Archery ( the actual arrow that downed an elephant), harness racing, to national championships in football. Some of the inductees are Bear Bryant, Joe Namath, Joe Louis, Jessie Owens, Nick Saban, Hank Aaron, Charles Barkley and 100s more.

this is a good hour or two tour, but unless you are a die hard college sports fan there is not a whole lot to excite you.

I recently visited the Alabama Hall of Fame, which is in Birmingham Alabama. It's abbreviation is ASHOF. it is located in the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex, in downtown Birmingham. I have visited all the major North American sports halls of fame: Football, basketball, baseball, hockey, swimming, and tennis. ASHOF is slightly different, as it features mostly memorabalia and artifacts related... More

Every state should have such a museum .... a fitting tribute to incredible athletes. Although many of the displays predictably focus on men's sports and American football (it is Alabama and the South), there are other sports and women represented as well.

Why doesn't this jewel open on the weekends? I made a special trip back to Birmingham to visit the AL Sports Hall of Fame because it was closed on the weekend when we last visited. There is an enormous amount of information and artifacts on display. I could relate to or remember over a third of the honorees. I was... More

My son-in-law and I went for the first time. We had a group on, which was embarrassing because the admission was so cheap. People there could answer any and all of your questions and the displays were extensive. Sorry I waited so long before going here. Anyone who enjoys sports, will love it!
