We went to the Birmingham Zoo on a Monday and had the place to ourselves. This is a nice Zoo with some great animals. The Red Pandas were active and the Lion was as well...so we really lucked out!

We have a Birmingham zoo membership and go there quite frequently as well as using it for reciprocity to new zoos while traveling. We previously had a membership to the New Orleans zoo, but unlike the Birmingham zoo it did not have reciprocity to anywhere...More

This zoo is divided amongst the Alabama Wilds, which showed local wildlife, and an excellent Predator building (with some unusual animals, such as a papas cat, ddwarf mongoose, African wild cat, and a very cute black footed cat). They also have Trails of Africa, with...More
