It's not real bamboo and is motorized but you get a nice view of the Li river. Keep In Mind you will be surrounded by other tourists on rafts.

A must do. Great fun. Glad I was just on it for the ride as those men work very hard navigating you down the river. Make sure you buy your ticket from the box office and not from the people on the banks that will...More

This was enjoyable. There were small waterfalls that you would go over. The driver will ask you to lift up your feet because water comes through the floor of the raft. Make sure that your driver brings the umbrella. My husband's guy was so busy...More

This is so much fun. The people who punt you along are fun and the kids loved going down the rapids. Highlight of our trip.

I simply watched the Bamboo Rafting from the beautiful bridge and it took my breath away ... just looked so beautiful. I didn't actually go on the Bamboo this time but would definitely do it next time.

The bamboo rafting was an amazing experience. We got to experience it during a heavy downpour, as well as after the rain cleared up. The beauty of the Yulong River did not fail to entertain us as we slowly floated down the river. It is...More

We did this tour today. There were 5 of us, max 2 to a raft so we had to take 3 rafts. Don't expect wild rafting down the river. Do expect a scenic route down the river. We had the river to ourselves! We were...More

We did an hour long bamboo raft trip in Yangshuo. We didn't really go to Guilin. It was lovely. Plenty of nature abounds. The sounds of frogs and crickets were a delight. Definitely something to do if you are a nature lover.

I think the age limit is 64 so I think it's unsuitable for your mum. Such a shame as it's a lovely trip. No idea if they do a shorter trip than the cruise. walking across the rafts to get seated can be hazardous. Hope... More

We didn't use insect repellent when there in early July - we did use sun block though. there is s shade over the raft but still would use some sun block if a sunny day. Not necessary shoes or wipes.
