This is one of the most beautiful park areas in China. Walk up and down the stone hills on cut granite steps. Cable cars will take you half-way up. Spring and especially good times. Summer is hot, and hotter with the climbing.

We walked up (you can take the cable car up), which involved lots of stairs but scenic views such as 'immortal with backpack' (and other rock formations rising out of the mist). I would bring comfortable walking shoes and plenty of snacks and water. If...More

Mt. Huangshan is just simply gorgeous. Unfortunately it is also crowded even during a regular, non-holiday weekday. I can’t blame people for wanting to view arguably China’s premiere mountain beauty but the crowds put a bit of a damper in our experience. If people respected...More

Yes, you've seen the mountains in Chinese brush paintings, and you think it's just a picture. It is real & you will know when you get to Huangshan.

A must visit for everyone who are interested in beautiful mountain scenery. It is advisable to visit during the not so busy time so that you can enjoy the scenery in peace. As this is a day trip, better to bring your own food as...More

Most travellers to Huangshan start their journey from Shanghai or Hangzhou. There are two ways to reach the geopark, whichever way you go you will have to come to Tangkouzhen 汤口镇 first, that's where everything starts and ends, from here you take the shuttle bus...More

Really interesting, one has to adjust ones expectations in China as natural parks here will not be anything like anywhere else you have visited. Not visited by many westerners so very little English spoken in the area.

Beautiful scenery! A definite for any visitor! Many, many steps! Most of them steep with no handrails! Be prepared! Take enough water!

Huangshan is amazing. However, many people (myself included for not doing enough homework I guess) don't realize that to truly enjoy Huangshan, you better be prepared to walk a lot, and mostly uphills. The mountain is enormous! Even though you take the cable car to...More

I think the best way is to take a direct bus from Hangzhou West Bus Station to Tangkou Huangshan. Tangkou is the base of Mt Huangshan and Tunxi is the city in the province there. Taking a direct bus will save you the... More

Hi there, Autumn is actually the best season to visit Huangshan, usually from October to the end of November; however, there will be so many tourists then. And to be honest, all four seasons Huangshan has its own beauty and... More
