The hot springs are on the more expensive side but are worth the trip in our opinion. There are many different types of aroma pools with varying temperatures. During our visit we tried many different pools and our favourites were the carnation, ginseng and red wine pools! They also had vitamin C (citrus), milk and various floral ones. The temperatures of the water range from 36°C to 42°C.

We tried the hot springs after coming in from Hangzhou via train. There are lockers on site and they provide towels but Bath robes are extra. They do sell swim suits here but we would recommend bringing your own style. The shower facilities are pretty good and there is a steam room too. Due to covid we had to get ourselves pre-approved via our hotel's front desk with our health codes and travel itinerary prior to coming here. There are a few buses that go through Tankou Town directly to the hot springs and cost 11 RMB one way. Our hotel helped us to the bus stop and there is an English speaking manager at the hot spring that helped us get back to our hotel.

It is 178 RMB per person and we spent about 2 hours here in December. In the summer I could see us spending a little bit more time as there are lounge chairs.

Visited after we climbed the mountain. Do not remember the price, but I remember it being empty and we felt totally relaxed. In other words, no matter the price, totally worthy. Various spa pool in the area, maybe around 30 pools, each with a different smell. We stayed only for app. 2-3 hours, but I would totally try to stay longer.

The hot spring is a great option after you go to the mountain. The entrance is 198 rmb and opens from 12:00-10:00 pm, there are many pools with different temperatures and blends ( flowers, wine, milk, rice, etc) is a nice place in the mountain with public transportation access ( 11 rmb per trip) and the option to have massages at your convenience.( extra charge) . I would recommend to avoid it on the weekend or on Chinese holidays since it can be full of people. Bring a swimming suit and enjoy!

Did not get to try this HotSpring and Spa although entitled to free entrance as hotel guests. This is because of swimwear requirements. There is a store selling them but the price is very expensive and the fashion sense is...well..unusual..not quite for swimming. You couldn't use them for swimming after the trip. The female swimwear.

Remember to pack a swimsuit if coming to hike Huangshan! Really cool as far as hot springs/bathes like these go. Many different pools all with different scents and infusions such as coconut milk, red wine, ginger infusions, etc. Expensive, but great after a day of hiking.

We stayed at the Huangshan Hot Springs resort, so entrance to the Hot Springs was included with the hotel stay, and it was wonderful. A bunch of different pools at different temperatures, and with different herbs and flowers in the water. Bliss

Pretty great place - entrance is 298 yuan, but most hotels can sell you tickets for 198 yuan in advance. If I'd paid 298 I'm not sure the price would be justified, but for 198 I'm pretty happy with my experience. There were about 15 pools to choose from when I went there. On a Monday evening in March, the place was very quiet, I always had a pool to myself if I wanted it. Not sure I'd recommend going on the weekend though. It's certainly better in the evening than the afternoon - they turn on the lights and the whole place seems quite magical. I recommend arriving at about 5pm and staying a few hours.

Some of the pools are infused with different things, which is something I'd never seen before.

To get there, it's quite easy to get a bus from Tangkou - although better if you have some Mandarin - in my case, the bus driver didn't even stop at the hot springs, so i had to take another bus back to get there, and then that driver dropped me off and gestured in completely the wrong direction for me to walk...haha anyway, it's an experience.

Towels are included, as is drinking water, tea and some small fruit snacks (not an amazing range, but still appreciated). Robes are extra (15 yuan) and one pool is not included in the price (the one with the fish that eat dead skin...it's 30 yuan extra I believe)

Staff overall seemed pretty friendly - not sure of their English level as I have some Mandarin, but they were cordial and service-orientated.

Overall, definitely recommended for a relaxing experience. Enjoy Huangshan - it's such a great place.

My son taught english in Nanjing for a year after college and as his stint ended we visited him and in a whirl-wind week visited as many China "must-sees" as possible. Our main goal, other than The Great Wall and The Forbidden City/Tiananmen Square, was to hike Mt Huangshan as we had heard much about the mystical Yellow Mountain and had also seen paintings of it in an art class my wife and I took in college.
We were able to hike the mountain but since we were enveloped, up high, in low clouds and mist we missed the best views. NOT a problem as it added to the mystic feel of the place and was nearly a spiritual experience which we named our (thanks Led Zeppelin) "Misty Mountain Hop" . We actually hiked over the mountain to the north beginning at the West Steps and after taking the Taiping Tram, we taxied back to our hotel at Tangkou, nearly an hour's ride, for the ridiculously low price of $40.00!
Xigu Resort was our base and after the owner described the hot springs, without being pushy, we were more than ready to sign up. After a day of strenuous hiking, it sounded like the perfect idea to visit one of the Four Wonders of Yellow Mountain. He arranged for us to ride by bus to the hot springs and was more than happy to drive us to the bus stop.
Once we got to Huangshan Hot Spring and saw the layout we were extremely glad we had come.....and that was before we got into the pools. The locker rooms were spotless and attendants were at the ready to help with anything one required but without being a nuisance. Numerous pools of different temps and most with naturally infused water including: rose (complete with petals), jasmine, wormwood, bamboo, vitamin C and even wine. The attendants were always ready to help or replace your towel if you moved and the place served grilled meats, beer and other "essentials" for the weary hiker. You could get a massage and for those getting too heated by the pools there is a cold pool that felt fantastic soaking our sore feet and joints in!
The Hot Springs were an afterthought during our stay in Tangkou. I now tell people who are traveling to Nanjing that if they have time not only must they hike the mountain but they NEED to hit the Hot Springs (we were lucky enough to visit twice during our three day stay) to enjoy the complete Mt Huangshan experience. Incredible!
