We came here bit didn't fancy paying the entrance fee. We could see that there were no birds around and we'd already seen better lakes in the area for free. If give this a miss.

Our trip to the Salt Flats from Explora Atacama took us on a hike through a lush, little oasis village and past the entrance to ALMA (the Atacama Large Millimeter Array – the world’s foremost installation of telescopes) and then to a largely dry vast expanse of Salt Flats which are the seasonal home to thousands upon thousands of flamingos.... This Lagoon is included in the "Laguna Cejar" tours. It is visited for sunset and usually small snacks and a cocktail are provided. The tour costs around 20,000 CLP. This lagoon in protected and so you can't swim in it, and also the areas you can walk around to view it are restricted. The sunset view was spectacular here with... More

You might need binoculars for a good look at the birds, but there is plenty of other interesting things to see if you like landscapes. The views of the snow topped peaks reflected in the lakes, the strange salt encrusted rocks and the salt tolerant vegetation at the water's edge. Be prepared for a walk in the sun and for... More

We visited the laguna in sunset and it was stunning! Amazingly beautiful and so peaceful. One of the nicest places I've ever seen.

The Laguna Tebinquinche was the final part of our tour where we were supposed to watch the sunset. Unfortunately, we saw it at some of the very rare rainy days so there was no sunset at all, just salty desert and water - not very spectacular...

One lone soul and three flamencos greeted us when we drove up. A quick binocular scan convinced us even 2,000 pesos was too much. We'll developed for larger crowds, though, just not in January. You can see far more birds, llama, goats and guanaco up in the mountains at Manchuca.

I think we visited here the wrong time of year or day or something. Just not as spectacular as I was expecting or as we saw in other areas. Maybe winter is best here. Did see a white flamingo here though.

We came here as part of our tour with Whipala Expedition. They brought us here in time for the sunset. Entrance is 2000 CLP per person. There is a path you have to stay on. We didn't walk the entire extent of the path but enjoyed our time there.
