After walking up to the killing caves we wondered down to the entrance of the cave. Although the smell is quite strong it soon disappears. We got there about an hour early but it was good to have a good seat before the attraction of the bats came out. The formation in which they come and swoop through the air... More

If you haven't seen bats fly out of their caves yet this is a good place to do so. The top is quite easy to reach by foot you don't necessarily need to buy a drive up unless you have been walking the whole day. Pretty cool experience.

Our guide suggested a visit here but I was not sure what to expect but the sight of millions of bats flying out of the cave in what seemed like a formation was spectacular and being able to watch them seated with a beer in my hand was even better. Several restaurants have set up shop just by the bat... More

We took a day tour out to the caves. Trekked up the mountain and saw the temple and then awaited the sunset. The bats were incredible and so worth the wait.

Make sure you go to the top! You can walk up the road (to avoid the steep stairs) or get a ride. There is a killing fields memorial up there and a lot of things to see! Then watch the bats come out around 6pm at the bottom, it's pretty cool... but don't stand under them ;)

Each night, probably a thousand people come at dusk to see the thousands, maybe a million, wrinkle lipped bats leave their cave in search of wayward insects. It's truly a sight to behold while in Battambang.

The temples were a great place to spend time walking around at our own pace and enjoying the view from the top of the hill. We got a ride up on the back of a moped, which to me was worth it after spending a long and exhausting day walking around in the heat and slightly sick. We were thoroughly... More

I would advise you get a tuk tuk guide to take you. It's a long drive out of Battambang but totally pleasant on a tuk tuk. Significant hill climb to the top looking at caves where Khmer Rouge chucked dead bodies into and a temple at the top. Lots on monkeys around. Then back to the bottom to watch the... More
