This is the single thing the city has going for it and it's .. just depressing. No english info points, stories or maps.. and the olace was just dirty, badly restored, no bathroom and just.. weird place. I wouldn't come back.

Amazing view combined with beautiful nature. Be sure to visit it when there is light and sound show. Also check out Trapezitsa fortress it is right next to Tsarevets.

Thoroughly enjoyed wandering around tsarevets fortress. Church that had communist interior was well worth seeing. Beautiful location.

Very interesting and entertaining show of light and music in the evenings, a nice walk and visit during the day. One of the top attractions in town.

Short distance from city center, the fortress is for sure the most visited site of VT. But it's not real spectacular, like other medieval castles (maybe i am a little subjective comparing it with any castles, but...). Any way, superb surroundings! Very cheap entrance ticket...More

Dear Suzanne, do not worry, tfere are different pats with different slopes, you could choose that which you need; you need 30 min to follow the longer one actialy, it's better not to climb too quickly, to have time to touch... More

The price was 6 leva. That would be around 3 euros (more or less). As for hours, i remember the closing hours: 19.00 for summer months.
