About
O Parque Estadual Ilha Anchieta protege a segunda maior ilha do Litoral Norte do estado.

This is a perfect place for a sunny day on the beach, with crystal water and golden sand. Its a preserved island with a beautiful nature, and beaches. Rent a boat and explore!

If you are in Ubatuba make sure to come here. The island is a protected gem accessible from the Praia da Enseada via chartered boat rides (escunas). There is a fee of R$15 to enter the park, and that money goes towards the conservation efforts.
MAKE SURE TO WEAR MOSQUITO REPELLENT.
Sometimes they are late in applying the larvicide and it can result in some pretty nasty mosquitoes eating you alive. If that happens your best bet is to stay in the water.
Praia do Engenho is, in my opinion, the prettiest one, with yellow and black sands, a fresh water shower and the natural pools nearby, which are accessible by swimming or hiking.
The ruins are quite interesting, and if you have the time, read up on their history, available at the museum. So many people were imprisoned here during the war...
The staff is super friendly and more than eager to share information about the island!
Also, when shopping for chartered boats ask for their itinerary. Some companies stop at Ilha das Sete Fontes first, then go to Ilha Anchieta. It's best to spend more time at Ilha Anchieta, since it's bigger. Paying cash at the beach is cheaper too.
During the high season the time it takes to unload the boats take from the time you have available: the dinghy only carries up to 15 people at a time; if the escuna is full, it carries 80 people. And some people are freaking indecisive, so unloading can be a hassle. If you can swim, swim to shore when the guides tell it's safe to.

I SUP paddled to here from Enseada Beach. It was about 14km total. Before 10 am is the best time to go before the tourist boats and personal watercraft arrive.

Beautiful, natural pools - but no services on the island!
Jan 2016 • Family
My family and I took a boat trip to this island and spent about 2 hours there. It was very nice and a lot less packed than the beaches back at the city. The water is very calm and the sea looks basically like a pool, very nice for relaxing. However, there aren't any services at the island, so if you're planning on staying make sure to bring food/beverages, as well as your own beach items such as chairs, towels, etc, since there are no kiosks at this beach.

Weekend trip from Sao Paolo
Oct 2014 • Friends
We contracted a trip with a Bioventura adventures in Sao Paolo. Edson and Loudes are amazing ecological tour guides as they have an Amazing knowledge of the flora and fauna of the Atlantic Rain Forest. We took a schooner from Lazaro with a group of about 10 adults and 1 teen. On the island we took an excellent tour of the island sites as well as plenty of time to snorkel.

On the way back to the mainland we stopped for a caipirinha in a cove with a nice beach anchorage.

Fantastic trip and guides!
