In the most fenced city, I've ever seen, Jardins District pops so you can breathe a little and see some areas suitable for a walk and good encounters of people, shops, restaurants and more.

The Jardins district lives up to its name - Gardens - plenty of green areas, quiet streets and excellent infrastructure and location. Loads of shops and restaurants to all tastes. Awesome ice cream parlours. Designer clothes both international and Brazilian. Lots of health services nearby.

Hotel Slaviero Jardims on Alameda Campinas was my hub. Super nice folks, very clean and a wonderful breakfast buffet. Aside from the great restaurants it is also walking distance (up hill, but not too far) to Alameda Paulista, if you are into shopping.

Located just below important Paulista Avenue, Jardins
is the junction of four smaller neighbourhoods: Jardim
Paulista, Jardim América, Jardim Europa and Jardim
Paulistano. It is an upper-class area, offering a
variety of things to do, including shopping, museums
and parks. The neighbourhood is well known for “Oscar
Freire”– the most luxurious street in the city, packed
with high-end boutiques. In Jardins you will also find

Hello, My husband and I are thinking to travel here for a short vacation (about a week). We see the prices of hotels are quite good right now in Jardins. You mention that safety is not a concern. Can you elaborate on that? Were you back in the hotel before dark? Do you speak the local language? We speak English and a couple of other foreign languages, but literally zero Portuguese. How taking the local transit? We took a public bus and the subway in Santiago, Chile with no problems. What do you say about Sao Paolo? Help! Thanks

Take a taxi from Mercado to Jardins will cost you a lot, especially if there is traffic, which is most likely there will be! I suggest that you use the metro from Mercado (metro station Sao Bento) to Paulista Avenue (metro... More
