It's hard to find a zoo that creates a completely natural habitat for its animals, and the São Paulo Zoo is no exception. Still, staff try to provide a decent home for the more than 3,000 animals in their care, including local luminaries such as the Brazilian howler monkey and the red-breasted toucan. Tue-Sun 9am-5pm

This zoo is state-owned, and like any other public attractions in this country, it's barely average. There's nothing there you haven't seen yet in your hometown zoo. A couple of lions, elephants, monkeys, birds and stuff.

Through the years this zoo has lost a few animals, but still the best option in São Paulo city. For small children, animals are always an amazing things to see. Ant exhibit is always interesting, with sessions in the afternoon.

Sao Paulo Zoo is located in a lovely area of Sao Paulo. It's a very nice place to go and take a few hours. We recommend to start the visit at 9am to avoid the hours where it would be so crowded.

Small cages. Not worth going, you just get mad and sad to see how the animals are treated. Very low standards...

We absolutely love this place. It's a giant property and they have animals from all over the world. Their collection of south American animals is very impressive. It is a cultural experience as well. Highly recommended.

Quase tudo fica no ar livre, então é melhor ir num dia sem chuva e o mais cedo possivel para aproveitar tudo.
