Although there weren't any permanent exhibition that have to do with image or sound (which was a bit odd since this is the name of the museum), we came across a frida kahli exhibition. It was nicely curated, and the space looked great. The bar next to it is also nice.

Maybe I missed a specific exhibit day, but there is almost nothing to see here. Second star because it was free and maybe I was there on the wrong day

Went on a saturday afternoon, had luck that the quew was small, has valet parking and the entrance was for free. The layout of the museum is very interesting and fun to do, time flies by and the ambient and quality of the exposition was innovative and great.

Depending on the exhibition it’s worth a visit if you have spare time. Unfortunately we missed out on the Tim Burton’s exhibit, but we saw the Martin Parr that was fun and humorous, the other two that were also on not so much.

We were there for a free event while the TIM BURTON exposition was going on. The event itself was targeted at children and our little one had a lot of fun. There were lines, of course, but because several attractions happened simultaneously, we could take part in a few. We spent almost three hours there.

The building, itself, is nothing special, but since the museum changed its curator a few years ago, their exhibitions have been unmissable. However, you will have to plan yourself and get tickets in advance (or go on weekdays). Every time I go I enjoy myself and wanna go back. If you love music and movies, you've gotta go!

I have visited this museum twice, as they change there exhibits. I was really impressed with both exhibits. They were very professional, creative, thoughtful and visually interesting. Well worth the visit if the exhibit is of interest. Also they show great classic films- check the schedule. And lovely area, near a great feijuada restaurant

If you can buy a ticket - the new Tim Burton exhibit is outstanding and a glimpse into the creative genius of a man who was fired by Disney. Now I want to return and see the rest of the magic!

The museum is located in a posh area, by the Sculpture's Museum . try to visit both museums. On Sundays there are a Antiques fair at the Museum of Sculpture.

This is my kind of museum. They always have not only great exhibitions, but also short-term courses on cinema, photography and other similar subjects. If you live in Sao Paulo and like this museum, I recommend checking out their +MIS program, might be worth it for you! Can't wait to see their Tim Burton exhibition this year.

Thank Camila F

Staying in Jardins

Neighbourhood Profile
Located just below important Paulista Avenue, Jardins is the junction of four smaller neighbourhoods: Jardim Paulista, Jardim América, Jardim Europa and Jardim Paulistano. It is an upper-class area, offering a variety of things to do, including shopping, museums and parks. The neighbourhood is well known for “Oscar Freire”– the most luxurious street in the city, packed with high-end boutiques. In Jardins you will also find a trendy museum, São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), which people often line up for hours to visit. If green space is what you're after, take time to relax at Trianon Park, a refuge in the heart of Paulista Avenue.
