Neighbourhood: Ibirapuera
Ibirapuera Park, the highlight of this neighbourhood, is a family-friendly area to have a picnic, relax, play sports, exercise or appreciate art. It gets crowded during the weekends and is a popular leisure destination for residents. Its 1,584 square kilometers holds three lakes, two museums and several other cultural spaces. The park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as free music concerts and a water and light show celebrating the holidays at the end of the year. There are two important monuments to visit, the Obelisk and the Flag Monument. Ibirapuera is a perfect escape!

Breathtaking architecture. Perfect acoustic. Very comfortable.
Mar 2019
The building was designed by Oscar Niemeyer in the 1950s, but it was only constructed in the early 2000s. In addition to fantastic aesthetics, it if also very comfortable with perfect acoustic. It is worthwhile to attend a performance.

A grand entrance
Mar 2018 • Solo
Tried a couple of times to visit the building. Unfortunately, I could only enter the first part behind the glass doors. The entrance is the ultimate opener. What a vision.

Always something interesting showing at the Auditorium
Oct 2017 • Friends
Cultural events are well represented by the Sao Paulo community and government.
We get regular up dates on events, plays, music presentations and community events and the Auditorium is one the several theaters where there is always something special being presented. Many are for free or reasonably priced, most are free to Older citizens also which is very nice.
I have seen children's theater, musicals. Plays and numerous other events at this place in the park.

Best things in life are free

Not having gone inside the auditorium, I can't give an honest opinion about what's inside. However I did attend a free jazz concert on a Saturday afternoon that ended about 9:00pm. The place is named after the architect who designed the auditorium, Oscar Niemeyer and what makes it special is that the rear of the auditorium is a stage that opens to a fenced-in grassy knoll for the audience to spread their blanket and enjoy the music. Chairs are provided for special guests, expectant mothers, disabled as well as seniors just below the stage. After sunset, show is visually projected on the wall right above the stage. Best of all, the show was opened to the public free of charge.

Interesting Architecture concept
Jan 2017 • Couples
The auditorium is one of the buildings in Ibirapuera park, for the presentation of musical spectacles and shows. A red painted metal, covers the main access and gives identity to the building. Check official web site for the presentations and shows.
