FreeWalkPOA is a project to make Walking Tours totally free! Every Saturday at 11am at Praca XV in front of the Public Market we starts the Tour(except rainy days and in january and february). The tour takes approximately 1h30 minutes and you will learn new things about the Capital of Gauchos, besides meeting new people, and the best totally free of charge. After the tour you decide to tip our volunteers! Look for our ORANGE SHIRTS and have a different view of Porto Alegre!

Nice guys

A very nice way of visiting the old center of Porto Alegre. Even if it sunny and hot, I recommend this trip.

I took the Free Walk here in POA and they gave some basic Informations and some interesting stories. The Tour goes around 2 h, so they can't take you to every nice Spot at the Centro Historico, but they give you some hints and show the most important things, I guess. And it's free. But I suggest to give them... More

It is, for sure, the best way to get to know more about the place where you are visiting. Here in Porto Alegre the walking tour is hosted by friendly staff that, even under rain, kept the tour going.

The tour is a great call whether you live in the region or come from far away. I've done it twice, once in English and once in Portuguese and I really enjoyed both. The tour guides are knowledgeable and fun to hang with. The only minor change I would do to the tour is adding a little bit of context... More

A group of bright young Brazilian people who know their city well offer talks in English, Spanish and Portuguese about their city. Today July 4, 2015, was their 3rd anniversary since they started their project. I went to the talk to learn about the history of the city since it was founded and perhaps some history about the State of... More

It was a really cool walk with interesting pieces of information, history, trivia and fun facts of Porto Alegre. And on top of that, they are very kind to recommend places and stuff to do while in the city. Definitely a must!
