Rafael Robaina has been the best guide in any of my trips so far!!!! The Jeep broke down just when the trip started so the tour operator booked us uber to and fro Pedro de telegrafo. Rafael is such a professional guide, he made sure his group was sort of intact throughout the hike (I’m glad I was with really nice hike buddies too- Ana, Daniella, Karen and her boyfriend). Rafael was super nice with his group, you could see his passion in what he’s doing, he chatted to us althroughout the hike, he made sure everyone is fine, he made sure no one was left behind. Even if I was the only non-Portuguese speaking person in the group, he made sure I was home. He took great photos of everyone in his group too! Very much recommended when you visit Rio de Janeiro! Look for Rafael as your guide.

Awesome guide Rafael, knowledgeable, patience as hiking to the rock wasn't easy for me. The tour starts early in the morning so you get to the rock before most tours also is better to do it on a weekday as I did, the jeep is very comfortable and nice to ride in as you can enjoy the view. There is a professional photographer at the rock so take cash with you, is very cheap for great pictures (at the time I went it was 3 pics for R$10) worth the money. There is a place to get water/snacks before you start the hike, also you can use the bathroom. The hike is not difficult, I will say a medium difficulty, as soon as you control your breath it will be easier, go slow, take your time, enjoy the view. Also take comfortable shoes and clothing. Don't miss this tour and do it with Rio40!
