This a part of the Rio experience, like seeing The Statue of Liberty or going to the top of the Empire State Building on your first trip to NYC. It is well worth it.

Probably the #1 must see attraction in Rio. I visited with a group, and we took the train up to the top, then walked up several flights of stairs to walk around the base - just huge. Lots of other people doing all sorts of antics to capture a photo, including laying on the ground! We saw some cute marmosets... More

Rio de Janeiro is not my favourite place, but I had to see the Christo. it was an awesome experience. From the top one can see the sugar loaf as well. Watch out for Pick pockets. Buy yourself an expensive souvinier. The funicular was a scary ride, as strange people get onto it. The view from there is beautiful. Go... More

I mean, you came all the way to Rio, how could you miss the stunning views from up here? Advice, arrive super early to avoid the long lines.

Managed to go on a day where the lines weren't very long and it was still sunny. Pretty nice and I guess a must see - but thought the views at Sugarloaf were much better! AB

The views from the top are fantastic - if you get the correct weather. The day I went up, it was so misty that you couldn't see anything. You couldn't even see the face on Christ the Redeemer. It was so disappointing. The following day it was bright blue skies and sunshine, so I went back up and got the... More

Its a big statue people. You will go there and be annoyed by all the self-takers. The marmosets were the best part of the place.
