It is symbolic to have a statue high up in the mountain looking down the city. It’s impressive to look at the huge statue when you are up there but that’s it. Nothing else at the mountain top beside the statue and some souvenir shops.

Check weather prior visit. See the miniature monkey .Use the elevator. Amazing views. Combine with Sugarloaf tour.

This is a must visit for anyone travelling to Rio. It is such an impressive statue, but I would catch a bus up to the top. It’s a fair walk.

Pick a clear day for the best views. Get the train up as well. The mini bus people will Tell you there is a long wait etc but it is much better on the train than the bus. Choose your times to avoid the crowds.

The statue of Christ was breathtaking. It was surreal, larger than life. If you get the opportunity of seeing it at night from far, it's even more magnificent.
