The music is good. The food nice and good drinks. Yes it is a nice time out :) When you enter they give you a large card and as you buy things they write things on it. This is what you use to exit. All good it would seem. So after I finished I went to the cashier, I duly... More

Amazing restaurant with an extensive menu. Also later on it's a cracking spot to appreciate live samba and have a good dance.

This place is an absolute must see and try! The restourant and the atmosphere is simply amazing! Make sure to go when there is a band playing live concert! Better if you think to reserve to get a good table in a good position. Will come again for sure

For our last night in Rio we wanted to sample some authentic local entertainment, rather than the touristy offerings elsewhere. We had reserved in advance and had a good table on the ground floor, right amongst all the locals. We ate tasty petiscos and had a bucket of six beers. Our friendly server kept topping the ice up and he... More

My friend and I went on Saturday night. It was fantastic! Live music on two different floors, lots of samba'ing! Place is very quirky and very cool. Everyone was so friendly and we had the best night out. Massive recommendation from us

I know this place is not at international standards but I think it's a must have if you want to experience the real Carioca Life. The idea of an Antics seller was to transform this 3 floors colonial mansion, in a place where you can dance Samba Live music or disco dance live or having dinner or have a drink... More

Scam! Do not go. We ended up here after a recommendation and from the reviews from the locals, we decided to give the place a try. I'm not one for Samba but thought it would be a nice experience while in Rio. Once entering the venue, there are no signs that there is an entry fee. We took our seats,... More

Great entertainment, it's a museum and a samba club. It has three floors and even an elevator going up and down between them. Entrance fee of 50 Reais.

Absolutely amazing! Probably the most best in Brazil. Three floors of an old Brazilian townhouse beautifully decorated with oddities. Go only if to see the club. The music is absolutely superb. All the locals are here including families (with small children). Don't miss this in Rio

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
