About
The Museum of Tomorrow is a new kind of Science museum. Here you are invited to examine the past, understand today's global trends and envision possible scenarios for the next 50 years through immersive audiovisual environments, interactive installations and games available to public in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The museum has areas dedicated to temporary exhibitions, an auditorium for events, an inviting café, a restaurant and a museum shop. The museum also has three specific areas of programming: Education, Laboratory of Tomorrow and the Observatory of Tomorrow.

Neighbourhood: Centro
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.

I would recommend more iconic sights like Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf to folks visiting the city for only a day or two, but if you’re staying longer and seeking additional things to do and see, I suggest you spend an hour or two at this museum, especially if there are free admission days and the weather is good enough to tour the outside. Like others have mentioned, I do wish there was more, and I feel the entry fee could be lowered for the quantity of offerings, but this doesn’t mean you should avoid the museum entirely.
A nice cafe is inside with a good selection of items (at high prices for the portion sizes, though), and the staff are all friendly. Wheelchair users can navigate the facility with ease, and exhibits are translated for speakers of English and Spanish, as well as Portuguese of course. Some smaller displays out in the halls on the second floor lacked signage in any language, which made me confused as to what I was looking at, but most areas were equipped with either physical labels or technology that enables visitors’ phones to capture the info and show it to them or activate sounds.
Once done with the inside, I strongly encourage everyone to take a bit to stroll the museum grounds by the water and near Olympic Boulevard. The vistas are wonderful, and in good weather like during my visit, it’s an awesome place to eat food and/or people-watch. The way they constructed the museum allows for the best in-and-out combo of seeing the exhibits and enjoying fresh air around a stunning piece of architecture that is the Museum of Tomorrow.
Thanks for a nice visit!

Perhaps my expectations were a little too high, but I expected a little more.
There are a few nice exhibits, but overall I would consider this a smaller museum. Aesthetically, this museum was beautiful... many great places to take picture, and many well-designed exhibits.
Plan to spend 2-3 hours here, unless you realllllllly take your time to read everything on every exhibit.
This location is really cool too, you can walk around the museum outside. I would highly recommend that if it's a nice day.

I really liked the inside and even the outside was cool. But you can definitely see the part of the bay is dirty. I don't know if its sewage but you can see these Grey marks outside the these large pipes from under the museum..
But inside is very cool. The exhibitions are thought out and the science tells a story our not just the past but our future. I would check it out. One day is free but I can't remember what day.

In my opinion it is not worth the hassle. First there is no ticket counter all tickets must be purchased online before entering. So you have a hundred outside people trying to buy tickets by scanning a QR Code to a website that is not very good. It takes allot of time when you could be seeing or doing other things.

A really nice museum both the architecture and the exhibition. Shows many interesting things about our planet and how it’s evolving. The location of it is beautiful too. We went there on a rainy day and the queue was very long, so go early or be prepared of standing in line for a while.

The museum actually was closed because it was Carnival but it was worth a trip there just to see the outside. I'm sure the inside was spectacular! From the museum you can walk past a bunch of huge murals painted on the warehouses on the way to the Aquarium.

We were fortunate enough to have visited late on a weekend afternoon just as the evening's festivities were ramping up. The activities inside the building spilled out onto the giant plaza area.
It was a massive block party!

Yes, there are lockers which are mandatory for small backpacks. I am not sure you will be able to fit a large piece of luggage there.

Hay muchas opciones, si tomas el metro de la superficie en plaza maua, puedes ir al acuario aquario. Esta combinación es ideal si llueve, los martes la entrada al museo es gratis, te recomiendo ir temprano. También puedes pasear por el centro histórico.
