Great Cycle Route

Cycle along it, it is great! Such a nice beach, buzzing. Slightly more expensive coconuts than surrounding.

Unfortunately a lot of litter at the beach, people don't seem to care about throwing straws, plastics, bottles and cans after they bought the drinks and food, which is really sad. You can buy a pair of chairs and an umbrella for 20 Reais and then you can sit as long as you want. It's very common that they want... More

There's a reason Ipanema beach is generally accepted as the best beach to visit when staying in Rio. Slightly smaller and more refined than its neighbour Copacabana, Ipanema has everything you'd want from a beach. White sand, crystal clear water, small stalls selling drinks and arranging umbrellas and deckchairs/beds and the obligatory frames for the gym buffs to work out... More

My favourite city beach I have visited. The sand is awesome. The views are equally impressive and you could spend all of your time people watching. Clean and inviting.

If you are in Rio, then a visit to Ipanema beach is almost a must. It is very busy and appears much less sophisticated than the Copacabana, as most of the bars here are simply beach shacks.
