With a world renowned reputation, Ipanema beach has a lot to live up to and it does. Beautiful soft fine sand and crashing surf mix with the cries of food and drinks sellers as you enjoy the sunshine. The beach gets busy with locals which...More

The boardwalk was great - the beach lovely although the ocean was quite rough so beware if you're travelling with children. Perfect for surfing, though!

Didn’t visit the beach due to limited time and inclement weather. Looks very nice but repeated warnings of security issues from our guide and other security personnel didn’t help.

We stayed at the Copacabana Hotel but wanted to experience both the Copacabana AND Ipanema Beaches. They're both similar in that they are both beautiful with sand as fine as sugar. Ipanema felt much safer and we really enjoyed watching all the volleyball games.

high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which
can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue.
The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing
many art galleries that show contemporary art. There
