About
One of the most beautiful attractions in Rio de Janeiro and one of the most famous in Brazil. Our mission is to take people to an enchantment, fun and entertainment journey – providing happy and unforgettable experiences as well as valuing Brazilian culture. We constantly invest in safety, comfort and innovative technologies. Our locations constitute natural, geological, historical, and touristic landmarks in the city of Rio de Janeiro. As a natural landmark, it reminds us of our reference to the sailors who come to Guanabara Bay. As a geological landmark, it reminds us of our geological site precisely dating the history of our planet. We also talk about historical landmark because on March 1, 1565, Estacio de Sa founded the City of Sao Sebastiao in Rio de Janeiro literally on its feet. And, finally, touristic landmark because the Cable Car opened on Sugarloaf projected Brazil’s name worldwide. It has been the first cable car installed in Brazil and the third in the world.

Top ways to experience Sugarloaf Mountain
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Urca
Urca is one of the oldest areas in Rio. Known for its incredible views of the city, the neighbourhood runs along Guanabara bay, providing visitors with an opportunity to watch the sunset from one of Rio’s greatest natural treasures: Sugarloaf Mountain (Pao de Acucar). It is said that the locals in Urca are “bon vivant,” which is one of the reasons the area attracts people of all styles and ages. Urca is the perfect place to take a stroll and appreciate the area’s beautiful architecture, enjoy a cocktail and some delicious seafood pastries at a bar, or bring a bottle of wine and enjoy it while sitting anywhere along the stone seawall known as the “mureta.”

Great view and is a must if you are in Rio. The best way is to be part of a city tour where they fast track to enter on the cable car.

We visited in the early afternoon and it was very crowded. I would not recommend doing this on your own. If you plan to visit, use a tour company where you can get skip the line tickets our you will spend hours waiting to get int.

This attraction is a must go! We went Sunday early morning @9am to take advantage of a sunny day. All the views are amazing and some of them breathtaking. The cable car and service personnel were very helpful and bring all the insights needed for the visit. Nice souvenir shops at the upper lever with fine local art.

Since the weather had been cloudy for the first few days of our trip, I waited and luckily the last full day in Rio was clear. I booked tickets direct and used an Uber to the mountain from our hotel, This allowed us to spend all the time we wanted instead of being on a tour guide schedule. I was afraid the lines might be long since the weather had cleared so I booked the skip the line tickets. It turns out that was not really needed since we went early in the morning. I'm also a fan of James Bond movies and enjoyed remembering the scenes from the movie Moonraker and the action that took place at Sugarloaf and on the cable car. This is one of the must see places in Rio.

I’ve been to Rio four times and it took me this long to get to Pão de Açúcar, but it was absolutely worth it. I recommend you do the experience at 9am on a Tuesday like I did. There are no crowds at all, I was straight onto the cable car every time and there was plenty of space at the lookout for photos without it being overloaded by tourists.

Great views. Not worth paying the extra to skip the line. Lines were minimal. Maybe got in an extra 10 mins faster

The best part of our Rio experience. We arrived about an hour before sunset and were treated to the most breathtaking views from around the bay. There’s an excellent bar at the top with nice eateries and shops as well
