Away from the bust tourist areas. More of a quiet neighborhood and therefore the beach is full of locals as opposed to foreigners. Relaxed and friendly.

I was looking forward to Copacabana and Ipanema beaches and was mildly disappointed with both (Copacabana is too big and commercial). So when we set out for this beach I had low expectations... I was in for a lovely surprise it is perfect! Lively with all the families enjoying themselves. You hire an umbrella and chairs and are brought a bucket filled with ice to keep coldrinks / beers cold. Vendors walk up and down selling food, drinks, sunglasses, hats, food and drink and will only approach you if you call them over - if you don’t buy anything they don’t mind. The sea had a strong side wash so be careful. It was so great we went back the next day.

Boarding the cog-train for a ride through Tijuca Forest up Corcovado Mountain allowed amazing scenic views of Tijuca Beach and surrounding landscape

Very clean and not crowded at all. I was staying at the IBIS on the beach and in the morning enjoyed walking along the path next to the beach.

Beautiful beach a little bit away from the Center of City. located in a Finance area, A lot of Restaurants, Bars ans shopping around, very nice ,quiet area.

The last time I pass along this beach area it was just a few to serve and very few people. The only development was 2 circular Tall Towers.of apartments.It is referred to in here as The Twin Towers,....now. Because of the best Olympics this place is overgrown with restaurants, businesses,car dealerships and lots and lots of new development of apartments that were used for the Olympics. If you wish a reasonable deal on a full condo forget Miami look 👀 here.

Estoy entre windsor barra o wyndhan rio . Voy con mis 2 hijos de 8 y 12 años . La idea es no movernos mucho . Tener comodidad y cerca un súper. Q me recomiendan???

Basta pegar o metrô e descer na estação Jardim Oceânico. De lá até a praia dá uma caminhada de uns 15 a 20 minutos.

Na barra só tem uma praia, a ada barra, porém existem outras praias próximas, toda são relativamente boas e leves.

Bom, teoricamente você não pode, mas você pode levar uma canga e ficar, e se forem te perturbar, vá para piscina do hotel , que é ótima

Buenas tardes una consulta de Barra de Tijuca tenemos pensado ir con sra. en abril pero no sabemos a que hotel ir en que zona de Barra, nos recomendaron por la zona de playa pepe, o cerca de la plazoleta, pero veo que los hoteles por ej: Winsor o Novotel están un poco más alejados de allí. Alguna sugerencia que puedas brindarme en cuanto a hotelería y ubicación ?.

Hola Fernando. El lugar que elijas depende de lo que esperas de la playa. La zona do PEPE es la mas concurida de noche. Alli las opciones de alquiler no te ofrecen hotel y en general son viejas y hay que conocer para elegir. Suele haber olor a cloacas en las calles si te metes una cuadra para adentro. No pasa si alquilas dprtos sobre la playa.
Las zonas de los hoteles (WINDSOR BARRA, etc), en la parada 3 o 4 estan a mas de 10 o 20 cuadras de la zona do pepe (cada numero de playa son 10 cuadrs). Se puede caminar, no hay problema pero a veces uno no tiene muchas ganas. Alli la playa es MUY concurrida. Amontonados muchas veces. Si no tenes problema con eso, dale para adelante.
Ojo, si pensas comer de super, no hay super en las paradas 3-4. Estas condenado a salir todos los dias y salir no es barato en rio.
Hay mas hoteles en la parada 7 (WINDSOR MARAPENDI) . Esa es mucho mas tranquila, menos gente, tiene super en la parada 6 y el shoping a 15 minutos a pie, Pero para ir a PEPE, tenes que tomar un uber (8 reales de ida y 9 de vuelta). En estas paradas hay muchos departamentos nuevos frente al mar. Son otra opcion.
Por eso te digo, segun lo que te gusta tenes que buscar.
