What people are saying
Informal atmosphere with excellent food and some nice alternative treatments
May 2018
I see there are a lot of conflicting information about this place and my guess is that it offers such a variety of services that it is hard to judge it in one way or another. There is a vegan restaurant that would please even the most keen carnivore as the food is so tasty that you don't miss anything. The all you can eat buffet has a good variety of delicious, healthy and well prepared foods; the salads are mostly organically produced in their Friburgo (country side) branch and brought daily and you can taste the difference! As for the other things going on there, this is a comfortable homely place and reasonably priced, not a fancy stuck up hotel style spa. It is a place where you feel amongst friends. Yes, the service could improve a bit but ultimately it has some character to it that ends up being endearing if you go there more then once. Brazil is not a professional place in any aspect of it, everything is done in an amateur way, it seems to be part of the culture and that can be annoying if you are used to, let's say, the "Asian or European style" of things, where efficiency and service is everything... honestly, for the price you pay here, it is great! You could find better service elsewhere but it would be a lot more formal and cost a lot more too. There are some inconsistencies in the treatments due to the difference between therapists, some are absolutely wonderful and others are just regular. Apparently they are independent professionals called in as needed and that is the reason behind it. Better ask for exactly what you are looking for before making a choice of therapist and you are likely to get the right match. There are also some excellent world class doctors that are there on specific dates. Finally there are events, talks and classes that are organized randomly and some are really worth a look. This is a very private place, no street signs, which started as a way to serve the people who went to the Friburgo venue for treatment and missed having a place in town to continue to help them in their search for good health. It is a place made for old friends who are already familiar with the spa and often with one another... then it grew by recommendation and now people will find out about it on the internet and arrive there not really knowing what to expect. I would say that there are lots of interesting things going on in this place and not everything will please everyone but overall it is a lovely place where you can go and eat well, have a massage, meet some really nice people and always learn something that can improve your health.

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Ipanema
Ipanema is considered Rio's crown jewel. It offers the best view of the sunset from Arpoador and is inspiration for the legendary song, “The Girl from Ipanema.” Ipanema is an upscale area, home to many high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue. The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing many art galleries that show contemporary art. There is also a great variety of nightlife in the neighbourhood, which buzzes with many options for every taste.

This is not a spa
Oct 2017 • Couples
I booked an expensive package for my mother and I and we were not offered water.
My package included the roses tea which was not served to us. When I asked for the tea, I was answered there was nothing they could do about it.
The decor is definitely not a spa. It's in the playroom of a residential building without decor or ambient music appropriate to spas and their usual relaxing environments.

Nothing against it but then it shouldn't be called a spa. And also should be cheaper in that case.

Friends have had bad experiences there but I didn't believe because of the overall good reviews. Now I know no one was exaggerating

Delicious vegan buffet
Sep 2017 • Friends
I totally love this place! It is very relaxed and it serves an amazing vegan "eat all you can" buffet which changes the menu everyday! The price is extremely affordable and the variety of food amazing! Daily salads, 4 warm dishes, soup, finger food, everything is fresh and super tasty! Included in the price there is a cinnamon shot to die for ( with the energizing guaraná powder in its recipe) and a green detox juice! I confess I got a bit addicted to it and right now I am away for a couple of weeks and am already missing the place!

Massages for 2
May 2017 • Business
I found the facility to be clean but not plush like I am used to in the USA. The massage table I was on did not have sheets, heating blanket or adjustable face rest. The use a disposable cover for the table and a towel for you. My therapist couldn't have been nicer but her massage skills were just ok. My friend said she really enjoyed her massage, perhaps her expectations were lower than mine or her therapist was more experienced. The price was much lower than the hotels so I guess you get what you pay for.

Good experience in Ipanema
Sep 2016 • Couples
This is a nice spa in Ipanema but not the best in Rio. Its a good choice if you are close or if you really need a massage but can't get an appointment in other options.
The waiting area is in a common hall that's not so quiet so you don't get really in the mood before the massage.
My massage itself was ok but not the best in my life. My husband was very pleased with his so I guess it depends on the massagist.
After the massage we could use a dry sauna which was a nice surprise.

Pessimo!!!
Sep 2012 • Solo
Service is awful! It takes 8 days to get one email reply for reservation. The ladies on the reception are competing between each other and give different replies to the clients that try to make a reservation.

Atendimento pessimo!!! Se nao quiser se aborrecer nem faca sua reserva!
