Our visit to Paraty was the end of our tour of the Estrada Real over two weeks. To me it is the best preserved of the gold towns and gives the greatest sense of being able to walk the streets of that time. Tiradentes also...More

It´s seems like we´re back in the 19th century, where all the center of the city is surround by antigue houses and church.

This is Paraty's main plaza near the bridge. Nuestra Senhora Matriz church on it is a pretty church, well lit at night.

Paraty is one of the more beautiful colonial towns in Brazil and has great food and drinking options as well as plenty of choices for outdoor fun. Leave your high-heels at home though, the cobbelstones are quite unforgiving. Beautiful place.
