The old architecture, the artists playing and painting on the streets and the good restaurants build a lovely environment. Even if it is raining it is possible to have a good time.

This is a nice place for couples and friends. The restaurants in the area are overpriced and the portions are quite small. This is purely a touristic place, so get ready to be overcharged everywhere you go.

Paraty is one of our favorite places in Brazil. The historic district has buildings & churches dating from the Portuguese Colonial era and the original Gold Route. The beaches, islands, waterfalls and Atlantic rainforest are beautiful too. Definitely worth a visit!

Exploring this little town from Portuguese colonial times is worth a stop while you travel along the Brazilian coast. These days town life is dominated by tourism but the architecture still grants a look into colonial life. A tour guide is definitely recommended since there...More

charming town center with colorful and picturesque streets, succession of low houses which have been transformed into shops for many of them. Many restaurants and bars very nice.

Paraty Historic Center is very nice and touristy with many spots for great photography. The cobblestone is very irregular making it a bit difficult to walk and I would not recommend high heels here. No cars are allowed in the historic center making it a...More

Hi kathiwo! Yes, we had a car, no problem at all in Paraty. Three major parking options, all at 20 reais daily flat rate and guarded. The best is the one opposite the old town (Areal do Pontal), on the other side of the... More
