This church was one of our first stops with our guide, Cristiano, during a tour of Old Town Paraty. Uniquely beautiful inside - the red and white roses theme dominates the interior and is different than any church we saw on our Estrada Real tour....More

The largest and probably the most recent of Paraty's Colonial churches with a more formal style than the others. It's a good place to reflect and perhaps to light a candle for a loved one (which I did).

I visited this place in the morning and found that it was very quiet and nice to walk around. By noon, it would be crowded. There seemed to have a guide to explain slavery in Brazil and you will be recommended to pay for his...More

Probably the biggest sight of all there is to do in Paraty, the church is free to visit and allows photography. The inside is adorned with white, blue and gold paper roses, which makes it an unusual place of worship. Well worth stopping to discover.

The heart of Historical Paraty . Very near the sea and the small port where you can rent a boot to go around the many beachs . Around the Church , a few good places to have dinner .

The church is more beautiful outside than inside. Really nice construction but very plain inside, specially comparing to the churches in Tiradentes.

Quite a large solemn structure that dominates the main square Opened in mid 19th centuary but with uncompeted tours so looks more like a town hall Inside everything you would expect of a cayholic church

This church used to be for the slaves. No exactly slaves but those who was free or reached it. It's a simple church but a historical one.

More of a museum than a church now (although still used as a church) but worth a visit, particularly as Paraty only has a few places to visit (as opposed to the shops, cafes, bars and restaurants)
