The climb that was guided by "sunrise pioneers" was an amazing experience. I had never climbed before in my life but they went at a pace that was easy to do. They are extremely professional and are prepared for all levels of experience. They also take a video which they post online that you can have. You can always do... More

From what I can tell, there doesn't seem to be any guide or mapped route of this hike. There are a few local companies offering this as a night hike for around 140 reals per person. As we are fairly experienced hikers we decided go to ourselves for sunset instead. I wouldn't recommend doing it at this time if you... More

I am SO glad I made the decision to do this night hike. Having never hiked before, I found this hike very tough. That being said, Martin & team were so good at making sure we were all going at a pace that suited us. Keeping an eye on our safety as well as giving us regular progress reports &... More

We started our hike from our hostel at 7:50am arrived at the T13 trail starting point around 8:15 to start our trek. It took us just over 2 hours, arriving to the top at 1025am. It says up to 3.5 hours online but I think you would have to be crawling up with many extended breaks for that to be... More

A demanding hike of nearly 6h round trip is totally worth it for the stunning view of the sunrise. Tomas and Martin from Sunrise Pioneers are great guides - helpful, knowledgable and fun. Highly recommend their services (also booked a boat trip through them which was equally brilliant).

Bring water, lots! I only had 1.5 liters and ran out at the summit. The humidity and summer heat were overbearing, but nice cool breeze at the top. I ended up drinking some water from one of the streams I filtered through my bandana. It was good and I didn't get sick. Great, great hike though with an incredible pay-off... More

Waking up at 1.45 after a few drinks, the thought definitely crosses your mind- "is this worth it", especially after the first section when the hike has barely started however once you get going, you adjust. Martin was a fantastic guide giving pointers of what to expect and when- he really is great. Once you reach the top to see... More

Three of us (myself, partner and another male friend) decided to hike up the peak on our own, we set off from our Pousada at 5am in the dark with head torches to avoid heat of the day (but more importantly to get back in time for breakfast!). The start of the track was easily navigated and first 45-60mins not... More

It was a great experience, although we didn't get to see the sunrise or anything for that matter because it was too cloudy until 6:30 am, when we left. It took us almost 3h up and 2h down. Bring some food and water, 2 liters should be enough. We didn't hire a guide because one of us had some experience,... More
