Beautiful peaceful place just a few kilometers from the city center. You can find a lot of history here. Monks named Trapists made first power plant in Banjaluka, and first brewery too. You can buy monastery vine and well-known cheese named Trapist. If you are coming to Banjaluka, you must visit this place.

Banja Luka is a fascinating Town and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The Trappist Monastery is definitely worth a visit. The Building is no St. Paul's or St. Peter's it is a very simple building but one where you can find peace and where a prayer may be answered. The monks in their humble way make you welcome and it... The monastery is quite pretty looking, we came in the middle of winter, and even though there was no snow, the dry air made it a lovely crisp walk. I would recommend you bring a picnic and buy cheese there (it is a lot of cheese, and we paid 42.00km for our wheel). Sit by the river and enjoy the... More

The monastery is surronded with beautiful nature and you really can't decide what's more beautiful: that nature or the facility itself.

If you are visiting Banja Luka, one interesting thing to do is to visit the Trappist Monastery. Trappists are an order of Catholic Monks. The facility and church are gorgeous and peaceful, on the outskirts of Banja Luka. It as pretty impressive. I was amazed that the city of Banja Luka does virtually nothing to emphasize one of the few... More
