good for surfers

the easiest way to get there (aside from driving) is to take the Enoden train. there are always surfers there.

We did the classical tour around Japan and wanted to check some beachy places. It was autumn and was very windy, but you can see some surfers hanging around. I guess summer would be quite crowdy. Anyway, if around, some to check it out!

Lots of visitors through out the year to enjoy beautiful sceneries. Do enjoy during sun rise or sun set time.

The beach and the ocean offer a great view from the Hasedera temple, however it is dirty and unclean. At the entrance of the beach there is a notice put up, asking travellers not to enter the sea, because sewage (after treatment) is being dumped there

Go down to the beach, drop your shoes&socks and stay in the shallow water for a few waves, very relaxing and just the treatment you feet deserve after a day of visiting. Don't worry about the sand, not much will get on you and there is a small channel made of concrete on which you can stand, clean you feet... More

There are a few spots along the promenade that Hawks swirl and glide above you. They are beautiful and majestic! BUT, beware of the food in your hand. I got my beef cake cutlet being snatched by a gigantic hawk in a split of sec, luckily the hawk was so precise that even it's feathers didn't touch me, no to... More

Took a day trip to Kamakura and came here at the end of the day to relax and catch the sun set. Everything closes quite early in this town so nothing left to do except hit the beach. It's about 10 minutes walk from the train station and wasn't hard to navigate at all, but I was quite disappointed because... More

We took a trip from tokyo with JR Yokosuka Line to Kamakura. Station is 1.3 km from beach. Very nice walk along main street with smal shops and cafes. Beach was very good for a walk along the Pacific. Nice views and very quiet. Very Nice trip for a few hours.

I ended my day in Kamakura by watching the sun set on the beach. The beach itself isn't really anything special. I went when it was cold so I wasn't looking to swim. Just a place to read and catch the sunset. My overall impression was that is was a little dirty and kinda scrubby. A good fix if you... More
